About Us
Purdue Club Baseball is a student-run organization and is officially recognized by Purdue Club Sports. We participate in intercollegiate athletic competition and provide students the opportunity to continue to their baseball careers at a collegiate level.
We are proud to be a part of the National College Baseball Association (NCBA), which includes club baseball teams from more than 280 colleges and universities across the country. We compete in the NCBA's Division I tier, the most competitive club league available. In this tier, we have been nationally ranked multiple times, getting all the way up to #6 in the country during the Spring 2016 season. Click here to visit the official NCBA website.
Purdue Club Baseball is a Division I team that competes in the Great Lakes West Conference. Our conference teams include UW-Madison, UW-Whitewater, Marquette, Illinois, Illinois State, and Northwestern. We also play several non-conference games throughout the course of the season. Throughout past seasons we have played various club teams such as: Michigan State, Iowa, Iowa State, UMass, Ohio, Ohio State, and UCF. Along with playing club teams, we have played against NCAA Division 3 schools Rose-Hulman and Wabash College. We are always eager to find more teams to play throughout the season! If you're interested in scheduling games with us, please email [email protected].
Purdue Club Baseball is active throughout the entire academic school year. Tryouts are held within the first few weeks of both semesters, and our season begins shortly thereafter. We play other club teams on weekends and practice twice a week through October in the fall. We will also schedule a Fall tournament to reach out and play new teams and good competition.
In the winter, pitchers are put on a throwing program and players will get in reps indoors at Purdue's Turf Recreation Exercise Center (TREC). We practice as a team indoors until it is nice enough to go back outside after spring break.
The NCBA conference schedule starts in the Spring and continues throughout May. Annually, we travel to Panama City, FL for Spring Break to play teams across the nation in the NCBA Spring Training Showcase. Moving forward, winning conference and regional championships would advance us to the NCBA World Series.
If you have any questions or would like to tryout, contact President Max Matteucci at [email protected].
